2nd Place - biggest team! 1st Place - most $$ raised!
In two humble words: Thank you.
We did it! I did it!!
I really couldn’t have done this without all of you. Y’all gave me courage. You helped me train. You gave your $.
You gave your time. You gave your love.
This kidney donation not only saved my brother, it’s saved me. Living donation didn’t mean having a sedentary life style. Nope. It meant time to get out and LIVE! Getting in shape has been a blessing and become a lifestyle.
Thank you Kidney Donor Athletes for sponsoring my “First Event Back”! Your sponsorship gave me a goal to work towards!
Thank you Orangetheory Fitness Cumberland for pushing me to my best potential (and room for more!).
Thank you Pinnacle Financial Partners for your donation - which put me over my fundraising goal!
Thank you to all of the Cobb First Responders! Cobb County Police Department, Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services, Cobb County 911
Thank you Cobb County Public Safety Foundation for the event!
Thank you to Stephanie Pintacuda for answering all of my questions and being so amazing. Your co-workers and volunteers were awesome!
So. Anyone wanna join me next year?!

Hundreds came out to run in the First Responders 5K, a benefit for the Cobb Public Safety Foundation. Firefighters came to run in their gear, and others came to run for those who run into danger to protect us.
When a Cobb County woman learned her brother who is a firefighter needed a kidney, she didn't hesitate to donate one of hers. Both say it changed their lives immensely. In an unusual chain of events, she even had a chance to learn more about his career as a firefighter.
The Cobb County Public Safety Foundation has donated a "Storm Stick" to the Cobb County Fire Department. The device helps decontaminate firefighters after they finish fighting a fire. Studies show fighting fires can expose firefighters to cancer-causing agents, which could dramatically increase their cancer risk as they age. The foundation hopes to fully equip the fire department with these decontamination devices in the coming months. To learn more, visit www.ccpsf.org.
